Do laser hair removal treatments hurt?

How many sessions are required to get the desired results?
The number of laser treatment sessions required depends on many crucial factors. For example, they include the type of hair to be treated, the targeted area and systemic factors, including medical conditions, medications, or any hormonal influences.
How often should I have laser treatments?
We recommend having a minimum of four to eight sessions between our laser treatment time initially. However, it depends on the hair cycle and the skin areas being targeted.
What should I do for pre-laser hair removal?
You need to follow some critical things before starting the laser hair removal treatment:
- No threading, plucking or waxing at least one month before the treatment. Also, stop such hair reduction methods for the laser treatment duration.
- Do not use depilatory creams or bleach at least four to six months before the first treatment. You need to stop using them during the sessions as well.
- Avoid exfoliating the area being treated two days before and after the laser session.
What should I do for post-laser hair removal?
After the laser treatment, the redness can last for about seven days. You may also feel itchiness and heat in the treated area for up to seven days. There may also be swelling in the treatment area. So, you need to consider the following things after the treatment:
- Wear loose clothing and keep the treated area cool.
- Avoid applying deodorant for twenty-four hours right after the treatment.
- Stop using sunscreen for at least one week after the laser treatment.
- Don’t perform treatments in the same area, for example, injectables, peels, etc.
